Shirt orders
New update out on the email list: If you were a 2009 participant and did not receive the email, let us know. Time does matter! August 7th is the high season in Westport and you had best consider arranging lodging and slip space ASAP if you want much of a choice. In order to ensure delivery we have to place shirt orders two weeks in advance. We lost a ton of shirt sales the first year as we gave guys shirts meant for sale when they signed up late. This year, teams must be signed up by July 24th to ensure receipt of the complementary crew shirts and pre orders of t-shirts, longsleeves and hoodies. If you sign up after the shirt order goes to press you can still buy them at game time. We are also expanding our Wounded Warrior open seats program this year. Our first run was a bit chaotic due to such a large percentage of the teams piling on at the last minute. Due to this, we ended up leaving a few of them behind so we are changing up the process somewhat this year. We have made arrangements to bring 20 Wounded Warriors out to not just fill seats but as volunteers to work the event. This development solves a bunch of problems and gives teams direct access to take guys pre/post and game day fishing. We are putting them up in local hotels so that they will be present Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We currently have 16 teams registered and 7 Wounded Warriors placed so we expect this to work out well. Of note, our first place team last year pre and gameday fished with Wounded Warriors. The other teams who took Wounded Warriors did better than the averages. Karma is your friend. If you don't already have someone placed with you and want to take them fishing for tuna/salmon sometime just ask and we will hook you up.
